Kalymnos: Rock climbing overlooking the Aegean, exploring a sea bottom of ancient shipwrecks, diving into magnificent caves, relaxing at beautiful beaches, wandering around typical Greek settlements. This is Kalymnos. The fourth in size island of the Dodecanese is known as an international sea sponge processing and marketing center, with a tradition of a hundred years. Kalymnos is an alternative destination, ideal for climbing, diving and mountain hiking lovers. Pay a visit to the small port of Rina, at the seaport village of Vathi; a beautiful canal with turquoise waters that resembles a Norwegian fjord. There are numerous diving centers operating on the island, introducing you to Kalymnos’ unparalleled underwater beauty: wrecks, underwater caves and colorful reefs full of life. Last but not least, you may also pay a visit to Telendos, a tiny island suitable for those looking for yet another peaceful spot.

You probably haven’t heard of Pserimos and that’s ok. The small island is reached from the north side of Kos and southeast side of Kalymnos. Quiet and isolated, Pserimos is…miles away from the crowded touristic world, but during summer a lot of people pay it a one-day visit. You are dropped off at the one and only «village» of the island, Avlakia. Sun bathing and countless diving is pretty much all you want (and need) to do here, before treating yourself with delicious seafood, prepared by the islands’ typical Greek taverns. After your generous lunch, if you feel like exploring the island on foot, take the uphill path from the harbor to reach the beautiful beach of Panagia Grafiotissa and admire the small white chapel, literally by the sea. For scuba divers, there is another shipwreck on the east coast of Pserimos, at a depth of 25 meters.

Plati is not for everyone but for the few who know where to find paradise on earth. Popular for spearfishing, Plati is only within a short distance from Pserimos and is known for its clean, deep, waters and rich fishing grounds. Do you know what electric blue looks like? In Plati, the sea is brighter than turquoise and almost transparent. The waters of Plati are considered one of the clearest in the Dodecanese and this tiny island is a mostly reached by those travelling with their own boats or yachts.
